“Grand Cru” begins with the selection of the Cocoa Beans.

Generally all Cocoa Beans can be classified into 2 grades. Ordinary or bulk cocoa beans are beans which have no specification of variety or origin.

The Criollo Cocoa Bean from Venezuela is considered a Noble Grade or Fine Flavor bean. The Criollo Bean accounts for less than 10% of all world cocoa production.

At Sensational Chocolates we use only “Grand Cru” chocolate made from 100% Criollo Cocoa Beans, considered to be the rarest and most flavorful in the world!
